


The Community Task Force is a project funded through Intraining which sees CPO Media using our facilities, expertise and the media itself to offer an innovative ‘welfare to work’ programme.

CPO Media Projects
In addition to the core publications CPO Media run a number of projects which complement the company’s social purpose and help to sustain it.

CPO Media is proud of its project work and grateful for the funders who make it possible. As always though, it is the work of the volunteers, students and trainees that makes these projects a success.

At present we are running a second Heritage Lottery project – Distant Water – which recounts the real stories of Grimsby’s deep water fishing fleet. This project follows on from the highly successful story The Women They Left Behind – both projects are highlighted on this site.

From time to time we are funded to deliver other media projects that stay true to our social purpose. SPARK magazine was one such project. Funded by Mediabox we worked with over 30 young people to create media of real note; these were local pupils who without this funding would not have had the opportunity to work with the media in such a way. The project culminated with two magazines distributed to every secondary school and academy in North East Lincolnshire and a free to view exhibition at the Heritage Fishing Centre.

As a UK Online Centre we are now in a position to offer training and access to those
who have never had the confidence or opportunity to go online for the first time.
